Trailer For Animation Entry To The Houston 2013 48 Hour Film Contest

The contest ran over the last weekend, with about 60 teams involved. As usual, little sleep during the 7PM Friday to 7:30PM Sunday contest (coffee), followed by dropoff party (alcohol).

We drew the Crime/Gangster genre, with required elements a dollar bill prop, the line "I can do that" and the Character S. Frances, a teacher. The 4 minute animation was done in Carrara using mostly DAZ3D Poser content. The premiere theater screenings are next week, after which I can upload the video. Here is the allowed 48 second trailer.

    Thanks, but that's not too likely with ~60 teams in it, many of which are large and experienced with specialists in each area. But its a fun challenge, and if somebody doesn't like it, you can say, "Well, we only had two days."

    Thanks, Ivy. I really like some of the models I used - Skull Cove, Fun In The Sand, the Ant Farm's "Never ..." series of buildings. Happily I don't have to learn to model. :coolsmile:

    Thanks, sounds like a fun party. (You might want to rent a movie as well, since "Summer's Last Day" only runs 4 minutes.;-) Maybe "Triplets of Belleville", a great feature length animation that many have not seen ... or even heard of ...)

    Our video screens at the Houston theater Wed. 15 May at 7PM, with about a dozen entries total. About half the tickets are already sold, and I expect it to sell out due to other team members wanting to see their film on a big screen (same as us). Its always a little nerve wracking waiting for the audience response at the end. They are always polite, since most realize how difficult it is to do a video from scratch in 2 days. But its nice when the applause is a little warmer than polite.

    I should have it up on YouTube late next week.

    On which topic you was make movie?
    It is great chance for you to learn about movies and its tricks.
    Experience person is the source of knowledge and ideas that key to success. Take advices from them and act upon it...

    The contest has a drawing on the first night for a genre, we drew "Crime/Gangster". There are also three required elements, listed in my first post above. The "topic" of our video was really a young boy's imagination, inspired by Hollywood movies, toys, and an available sand box. It is also the last day of summer, so one last adventure before school starts.
