Importing characters

How do you save a character, so that I can import them into future scenes without having to recreate them from scratch? I tried saving characters up using Save As and then Character Preset, but it only saves the actor itself; not the clothes, accessories or hair the character is wearing.

How do I get EVERYTHING to save so that I can easily bring them into other scenes later?

    Save As>Scene or Save As Scene Sub Set both can later be Merged into other Scene files as needed.

    If you have created a character in a scene and you want to save that character with clothes, hair, ect so you can use it in a different scene, then save as -> scene subset. After you enter the file name, it will bring up a dialog box where you can select which objects from the scene to save.
