Psst, before I go, I bet Frank is gonna want to see what happens when you click on that "Show File List" button, so he can see where it has installed things.

And is that folder listed in DS as both a DS-format and Poser-format content folder (Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager)?

  • edited December 1969

that is listed by the install manger
Installed Files-Griffin Wings For Daz Horse 2

Yes, but is it listed in DS? Depending what version of DS you first installed, it may not have that folder as a default.

  • edited December 1969

it is listed in daz but no props
    unless I do *.*
    daz3d-studio-my library-runtime-libraries-props-daz horse2-wings-griffin wings-
in this folder there is Materials only but if I enter "*.*" then I am able to see HorseWIngs.duf
    HorseWIngs.png

That location is wrong. First of all, the .duf file should not be under the Runtime folder. Secondly, according to DIM they were installed to C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library, not DAZ3D/Studio/My Library

how do I correct this? Uninstall then where is settings to specify correct install ty so much

    Either:
    1) In DIM, click the gear (settings) in the upper right corner, go to the Installation tab, click the "+" in the lower left to add your My Library path, and make sure Current is set to the new location.
    or
    2) In DS, Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager to add the My DAZ 3D Library location to the DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats.

OK I can't say this will help but I'll tell you how I installed this. I used DIM to install installed both Daz horse2 and the Griffin Wings for Daz horse2. They went into the standard directories and I had no problem finding them. See the screen shot for details. Make sure you view full size.
P.S. this is straight from the product page.
Please note: this is a DAZ Studio 4.5 asset only, it can not be used in Poser due to being a conforming prop.

Well it's definitely a DAZ Problem if they can't provide you with an installer that works I would ask for your money back. All I know it worked on a fresh computer with the DIM for me, so there has got to be something wrong with the file you're installing sorry that's the best I can do. It's got to be frustrating maybe try the zip file as a last hope.

it seems to now be installed properly.Uninstalled then reinstalled

You're killing me DAZ! You're killing me!

Why must you always have such awesome-can't-miss sales!? Shakes fist in air, wallet in the other. I just had to drop another $40 bucks on the Horse 2 Starter, Griffin Wings, and poses.

Can't wait to play around with these this weekend!

Quick question, I just bought the Griffen Wings, it says on the page it is compatible with Daz 4.5+, Daz Studio does that mean I can use it in Daz Studio3 the older version? I am trying to do a movie, and movie maker only works in the old daz, grrrrr I want to use the wings too in the movie. If so what files do I need to use if they will work. I know it says above in a previous post that they won't work but my question is the way that it is witten on the download page seems to say it will. I have been around for years but just only the past 4 months or so have really been trying to use Daz as before I did not have enough ram and the dang program crashed all the time so I gave up for a year at a time, LOL finally it is working for me. :>) so am enjoying the million files I have bought. hehe Hugs Tenderspirit

    No, they're weight-mapped so they won't work in DS3.

ETA: I'm not sure if the Poser version is P9+ weight-mapped; if it isn't it should work in DS3.

Thank you for the quick answer. I guess when it said it worked in Daz Studio it did not mean what I thought it did. Hugs Tenderspirit

On an off topic here a preview of my next character and a new stand alone set of wings. It's got geo-grafting horns and tail, that was a real learning curve but I got it working. Still have to finish the textures there a few mistakes that needs fixing.
