If you're looking for interesting skins, in the V4 sales is PS Lilli. Look at all the thumbnails. Need reptilian skin? The last thumb will make you squee.  Can go as low as 1.35 with 4 in the cart.

Oooh, talk about cute- Sweetheart Dress (V4)   then Holidays: Sweetheart Valentine

LOL, and then there's the Slayer for it.  Whoa. Moving along,  the Asian is cute. The Floral is rather meh. But with 4 in the cart, they are only 50cents.

And this one is interesting- a character, with some cool "second skins."  Pix-Demiskrah. Remember if the skins are flat/matte, you can easily change those. And the brows are good on this one!  Also goes to 1.35 with 4 in the cart.

So I'm thinking, for 50¢, I'll take a chance on the Sweethear Dress. Put it in my cart with the other items I picked out, opened the cart, and thought, "Daz must still be in the process of the daily turnover." ... my cart is discounted 0% and has a total of $129.79...

Good thing I wasn't in a hurry to check out! lol

ETA: I just loaded the store page, and I see Daz pulled down the banner for the V4/M4 stuff. You know, the banner ad that said the sale was good through Sunday in a large ribbon across the top right corner...? I guess Sunday came early this week.

ETA Again: The blowout sale is back up and working, though the banner ad across the top isn't up. (Yet.) Here's the link to the sales page, if anyone needs it: V4/M4 Blowout Weekend.

ETA3: Down again. Everything in my cart is back to full price. The only items showing up on the sale pages are DOs. Even the RDNA items appear to have been pulled. And they never did put the banner ad back up on the main store page...

... But so far pretty much only DOs in there - everything in my cart (I didn't check out hyesterday, I wanted to sleep on it) is back to full price. Today I have 5 pages to choose from, yesterday I had 28. I guess that saves me a few dollars towards MM though wink

  • Anyone remember when the March Madness sales started last year? For some reason I think I remember it coming a bit early. The sales so far this year haven't been great .. at least for what I'm iterested i and it would be nice to use my Feb PC coupons on a better deal...

MM started on Monday, February 27th last year. So maybe Monday 26th this time? (Or they may wait till it's actually March!)

Hmm. The Massive sale is... Kind of lackluster. Buy one women's item, buy another genesis 3 female item and hair and get a discount.

With the way things are going, I don't expect to spend much, if anything, during MM. After much higher discounts with other sales, even daily sales for that matter, 50% off storewide, (typical of the MMs I've seen,) just doesn't feel like an "event"... more like a let-down, after all the hype.

I think I'll just go buy Marvelous Designer and start making my own stuff.

By the way, if anyone needs a screenshot of the sales page(s) for a trouble ticket, I took screenshots of all 31 pages, (at 60 per,)  before the category was stripped of non-Daz Originals. Although it was after the sale was pulled, before it was reinstated, so no discounts except on DOs, but that shouldn't matter. Just PM me.

  • I found a bunch of older Sci-Fi items I've been wanting in the reduced size sale; paid like $9 for the 7 packs as opposed to $13 for the bundle that had fewer of them included.

Wow, just getting online and it seems the store was a yo-yo since I last posted!

One comment- be sure and check out the forum threads on products, particularly utility type products. If you have the app, it links the gallery images and threads on the forums. That hair dForce simulation product discusses users' experiences with it.

I wouldn't mind buying that at 90% off... wink

But seriously, I think I'll wait for dForce to support hair natively. Or maybe use VWD. (Which I hadn't even figured out before dForce was introduced!)

Wow, there were eighty six posts on the sale thread. Daz people really ticked people off with the sale glitch. It's working, so I missed out on it. I did decide to get the items I mentioned, and also wanted to point out the Long Sleeve Bolero. Not getting the textures as I have a lot of shaders. The Bolero goes well with the Sweetheart Dress.

I keep forgetting about this, duh. Richard posted it in another thread.

Use the Zero Figure pose Command  -e.g.g Edit>Figure>Zero>Zero Figure Pose. You can zero the feet only, if you wish - select them (feet, toes, etc.) then Edit>Figure>Zero>Zero Selected Elements

I'm going days at a time without buying anything,  And I still have my DO originals coupon for February.  Which has never happened.  Between the price increases and the overload of stuff I already have... I pretty much am looking for new utilities or sets. Don't need anymore people or clothing although if a good medieval or fantasy item comes up I might consider it. But its going to have to be amazing.

Yep, know the feeling. It's bad when there's only 3 items on the page when showing Genesis 3 People (out of 24.)  I stopped buying things to showcase because I have so many and am busy doing other things (storage unit is taking forever to go through things. Now I'm starting on yardwork before summer gets here, but we're having 75-80 degrees already?!  Wow. That's usually April, not February!)  And some vendors' characters look similar to what I already have. Sets and utilities are always good though, totally agree.

  • I'm in the Rio Grande Valley and it was 86 today but the feels like temp was 97

Not sure that anyone has posted any pics of Edward 8 and his characters? I've not done much with Edward yet, but I've been trying Keith and Finn today. I especially like Keith. He comes with a choice of clean-shaven, moustache or beard and with or without brows. (These pics use the face texture brows, I haven't tried replacing them with fibre ones yet).

Here is a simple portrait of Keith with Commander Hair.

And here he is again wearing a Tux he borrowed from G3M. I autofits quite well, though with his arms in this position the shoulders looked off so I tweaked them slightly (using scaling parameters in the jacket "Collar" bones).

Anyone know of a good "support thread" for those of us struggling to use RDNA products originally created for Poser? I'm having a bear of a time finding stuff I just bought, and when I do, "half" the things don't work the way I've come to expect.  Example, I bought "The Art of Dance - Ballet V4 - Performance Romance Tutu BUNDLE" with the dress and a texture addon. The dress and the materials that came with the dress load, but none of the materials from the addon will load. The product page specifies support for DS, but I can't find those files in my Poser Format library.

(I'm being reminded why I shied away from RDNA products in the first place... Maybe 90% isn't such a bargain afterall!)

And here is my first look at Finn - I've paired him with Edith from the Alexandra 8 Pro bundle. Same hair (I really like it) - she's wearing Louise Hair and the dForce Fiona dress.

Here are a couple of Edward and my female character Hive. He's in Time Soldier for G8M and she's wearing Proxy for G8F by Aeon Soul.

I can help with this. My suggestion though would be for you to create a new poser directory. This will make stuff easier to find. Then install stuff into it. The old  Daz Studio poser directory is way too filled with junk. You can do this by creating a new folder and then adding a new directory and selecting that folder.

    Those are really nice, @MelanieL.

To answer your question, I just finished rendering an image for Llola's challenge thread over ar PFDLives that uses Edward. I'll have to do another one that really shows him off, though. The image for the challenge was more about the squares than the figures. I used Darwin's Lillyanna Expansion, too, though I lightened her skin considerably for this scene.

I think he's handsome and I like that he's a bit older. His will make great materials for using aging morphs, with or without Edward's shape. I haven't tried working with the other characters yet, but your renders make me want to. I think Edward may be this generation's Ivan, but a bit more versatile.

Yes. This way you can keep all your new poser content in its on location. It will be far easier to locate what is missing when you don't have to scroll through hundreds of legacy things. Then start only adding your new poser stuff into this new folder. It'll be far easier to locate everything this way. Kind of wish I'd done that for my rendo stuff....

(Disclaimer: don't own this, but...going to put my two cents in anyway)

It sounds like you did manage to find the clothing within your runtime, and something that at least looks like it would be the materials. Make sure you're not accidentally loading the materials for the slippers, which look like they are not included in the bundle.  (Some people do pose/materials icons that do not make it clear which item of clothing it works on). The most likely places for the *.dsa files to be is either in YourPoserContentDirectory/Runtime/Libraries/Pose/Product Name or PA Name (you run the pz2 files and the dsa files automatically apply) or in one of a couple places under your Daz Content directory: the Materials folder of your Daz content directory (most likely under Product Name or PA Name) or People/Victoria 4/Clothing/Product Name or PA Name, or People/Victoria 4/ Materials/ Product Name or PA Name.

If you can find the dsa files in the Runtime/Libraries/Pose area, you can try copying them and the associated icons over to some place easy to remember in your Daz Content Directory, and testing them to see if they work from there.

  • That product doesn't list any DS files for the material presets, so I suspect they do not exist and you'll have to apply textures manually.

I have a "3rd party" folder for things I get elsewhere: Rendo, the Hive, freebies wherever. So I'm not a stranger to creating my own libraries, just working with Poser stuff. I'm going to give your suggestion a shot.

Hmmm... the material "preset" icons I was clicking on were all images of the dress and all together. Some worked, some did not. After attempting to apply the materials, I was poking around in the file directory and did see dsa files. I'll have to go look a little closer. And when I've separated these from the rest via Serene Night's suggestion, it will be a little easier to see what's going on. I hope, anyway.

Thank you both for your quick replies.
