Aye he was You should see my computer corner. I hide under the stairs (open plan room) Desk is made from a smal triangular corner desk, a room divider with selves, a shaped top made from some wood panelling mounted on hardboard, shaped and smoothed round the edges, which marries the two parts together and extends the desk to doulbe it;s original width, with a leg attached to support the longer top. It can be dismantled for moving and re-assembled quite quickly. It is over 15 years old now and still going strong. I do have a photo of that, taken in 2009. (need to get a new camera, mine went wrong.) computer, monitor and chair replaced since photo taken, desk still going strong.
@chohole Well, at least your computer area has a place to stack things and be organized, very well thought out. I'm operating off a round table in the kitchen nook at the moment. :) I wanted to be near the dogs as I transitioned them from full run of the house, to just the kitchen/ nook area. It's smart to be able to dismantle it, but sounds like you've found your cozy spot and not moving it anytime soon!
If you like digital cameras check out the Olympus Camedia C700 2MP Digital Camera w/ 10x Optical Zoom on Amazon. That 10x optical zoom is amazing. I have three of these because they don't make them anymore, but don't know where they're at at the moment or I'd take a pic and show you.
5:45am here, signing off for now.
So, thrifty @melanieL is impressive, spending only 13% for her purchase (over in the Deals Plugin thread.) So I calculated mine and I'm at 27%. I still think that's awesome!
You take the amount spent and divide it by (pick the highest number) the Full Price Value or Current Value, which I don't understand how the Full Price value can ever be lower than the Current Value, but it is. That seems to me to be a glitch. Full price should be 100% maxed out total of the items. Current would be less, due to sales.
@ati can you explain the discrepency? My Full Price is 1037.95 LESS. What am I thinking that's off track here?
Anyway, how good a shopper are you? (Don't disclose how much you spent or the total amount owned.) to MelanieR who trounced me by 14 percent! (And I thought I did pretty well...)
This also says a lot about the patience of the PAs who deal with constant glitches, but more importantly, their generous nature to voluntarily also offer good deals. We do appreciate that, and yes, I do buy things at 30% and 40% on occasion. I'm picking up @mattymanx Jeweled Excellence Bracelets (Gen2,3,8) because they're stunning, but also because I want to support vendors who are going back all the way to Genesis 2. I don't use that generation but I appreciate the effort. And I LOVE those bracelets!!!!
I was looking at Bitwelder and although I'm not picking it up right away, I'm thinking that kitbashing Mountaintop Gazebo and Balcony with some of the other sets (Is Bitwelder a he or she?) might be interesting. One of my favorite products (awesome water, as we all know) Lakeside Folly would be a fun addition to the end of the extended rectangular area running parallel to the water (not the rectangular walkways leading up to it) Breezeway and Balcony would be easy to swap in there somewhere as would Seaside Gate and Patio because it seems to use that same sandy floor material. Hmm, Lakeside Folly could lead to the Seaside one and use that sandy floor as the merger material. Just a thought.
I wouldn't want to get too deeply into the technical details. They use two different sets of data, both with their own advantages and drawbacks. Despite the seemingly odd difference, both of them are usually correct, or at least very close to being correct. (Caching can cause the sum to not be absolutely precise at that very moment.)
I keep that option off, but just this once I took a look see. My Full Price Value shows up at $2534.47 more than the Current Value; And my Total Spent is 13.21% of the highest value. Looks like @MelanieL is still the undisputed winner!
(Does it mean anything that I managed that in 39 months and 2 weeks, give or take a day?)
Well, you both beat me. I have 13.231%
I'm 16%, almost dead on.
Well to be specific, MelanieL said 13.12% And you people are making ME look like amateur hour. I did buy a lot before I went PC Club in the beginning. Took me a month or so.
My very first purchase from DAZ included a quarterly membership. It more than paid for itself that day with savings on the other products in my cart, most of which were older PC+ products at $1.99 each.
Something to keep in mind: if you have a game developer license, that will throw the percentage calculation off. Licenses never show as "owned," but their price is included in the total spent (if you spent money on them).

I thought I'd chip in on this: I just took another look at my numbers. My Full Price is 3,500 dollars higher than my Current Value (which seems reasonable) and I have reduced my percentage to 13.09% with the deep December sales (and glitches). I should say I also paid "full" price (intro that is) on quite a few new products - Mousso's Izanami, Zev0's Aging Bundle, Will (Oso3d)'s new shader set, Linday's wet hair, IBL Master - so it wasn't all "grab-the-cheap-stuff"!
Question for @ati on those numbers: How do you deal with products bought but no longer in store? Are they included in the Full Price or not? I have a lot of stuff no longer in store (e.g. almost all of Lisa's Botanicals and Ken Gilliland's catalogs before they left DAZ).
I arrived at DAZ back in 2010 when there were lots of freebies (all the Gen4 figures for example) washing around, including a weekly freebie for all without purchase. And they used to hand out coupons hand-over-fist in those days, so I spent zero dollars for the first eight months while building up a decent library of content.
My first actual money purchase was indeed a PC Membership and a bunch of PC items in the 2010 Anniversary sale, so that all helped to get to that magic percentage.
Items where Daz no longer provides prices and/or are no longer listed in your "owned items" list are not included in the totals. (Because we have no way to know their value and/or to even know you own them.)
Just looked at mine and my total caused me to go holy chiit (have a lot been buying since DAZ was Zygote) and my total is 32.5%
It's a scary number that I'd rather not think about - and my percentage is somewhere around thirty.
Ah, thanks for the reply. So I must have spent even more than I thought!
OK that makes mine even scarier for what I've spent
Those items still appear in your order history, so the total SPENT should be accurate to the cent.
OK thanks
The new kitty is so pretty. I’m jealous but so is my chihuahua and I don’t get any more pets while my little old girl is around. And truthfully one is about all I can afford but her coloration and appearance is really nice
Thanks, since I got her for my son, and he wanted one similar to Charlotte (remember the seal point Himalayan I had to put to sleep?) so Lily was perfect.
I'm tapped out at three dogs :) Geico is getting older and I want two dogs approximately the same aga (Duvee and Dibbs) because Duvee is two, Dibbs three. Geico is ten or 11 years old (and a big dog, which usually don't live as long as small ones.) As for the cat, I didn't get another one last year when I lost two- Spinner in December and Misty in January, because they died from old age related issues. I wanted something good to come out of a bad situation with Eevie, so this way I helped two shelter cats. Lily, and another incoming cat that now has a cage and gets more time. :)
Hmm, I don't have developer licenses and I haven't spent much the past couple weeks. That would take a long time to cache! I will just consider it a "ballpark estimate."
I'm a bit confused about how that percentage dealie works. My percentage shows 93%, but my total value is a bit over 10k of my total spent. Of course my total spent isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but still shouldn't the percentage be around 10%?
ffirst, are you doing this right- You take the amount spent and divide it by (pick the highest number) the Full Price Value or Current Value. I can't imagine you paid 93% of cost. That means you don't do the 50%, 60% or 70% off the majority of the time. Getting it at 10% sounds way low, on the other side of the coin.(edit- based on my shopping, where I do Fast Grab a lot, 50% to 75% or more sales, etc most of the time. And freebies, PC+, etc)
OHHHHHHHH!! OMG. I am so dumb. Ok. It's .098% when I do it that way, which is less than one percent. Dang, I've done good. All those freebies and steep sales are working for me.
Wait. Do I hit the percent key on the calculator after dividing? Because if I do, then it's 9.7%, which is still great, and totally makes way more sense than <1%.
You just take the dollars divided by full price/current value, (choose the highest number for that) and that IS your percent. Don't multiply or do anything else.
Example: Spent 120.00 and Current Value is 600.00 you do 120.00 divided by 600.00 and you get .20 which means 20 percent. (600.00 x 20 percent (.20) is 120.00
And you're not dumb! We're artists, not mathematicians.
So it would be about 1%. Wow. I've made out like a bandit. Dang. I need to stop feeling bad about spending money on this hobby.
Deleted post.
It's 9.7% if you divide and get 0.097. "Percent" means "out of a hundred" so you have to multiply by 100 to change a ratio into a percent.
