Help with Cathy Hair on G8 Figure

I am struggling trying to get the Cathy Hair to work properly on my character. I have attempted to follow instructions I found elsewhere about applying the Base Material marked "Apply First".

So, here is what I do:

1) Select "Genesis 8 Female" in Scene

2) Double Click on the Hair to add it to the figure

3) This pops up the Auto-fit dialog and I choose the "Genesis 3 Female"

4) Select "Cathy Hair" in Scene

5) Double Click on "Apply First" Hair Base Material

6) Double Click on a hair color option

At this point - the iray renders with a different color skin on the forehead. I tried to re-add the Genesis 8 skin mats again, but it doesn't help.

I've only been using Daz Studio for a couple weeks so this may be an obvious thing to others out there.
