in Technical Help (nuts n bolts)

Got DAZ3d 4.10 on the new PC.

Use D.IM for ALL installation..

Strange thing happens

Some products are not found and give first the question

(in this example i would like to add Teen Josie 8)

"would you like save changes in the current scene before closing it"

 

I do not want to close that scene at all.. so i say no (but yes does not give an other result)

 

Recource Error

could not open file : people/genesis 8 female/characters/Teen Josie.duf

(when i go to that directory she is there.. and when I click on her.. DAZ opens her but not in the scene i wanted her in)

 

So some products are found (just got Abandoned House by stone mason..) and when I install it... it works perfect

other female figures do too... but there are some products like teen josie 8 that do not want to load

(the centaur 7 same problem)...

What can it be

    Can you post these 2 screenshots:
    1) In DS, Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager, expand the "DAZ Studio Formats" and "Poser Formats"
    2) In DIM, on Ready to Install tab check the "Show Details" box in the lower right

    I seem to have found part of the solution... I had 4.9 already and the things that i owned when I had that program seems to give to problem

    I have looked at other threats about this subject, but it is not the same problem. It must be that DAZ had not deleted all products that I had before

    I would like to DELETE all that was ?  How do we do that

    So not only uninstall DAZ but remove all info about previous versions

    Can I just go to the directories and remove all DAZ related ones .. or will Windows become unstable..

    Here is a screenshot of a directory that shows all animals I own, but i have not downloaded all again..

    It gives "Dead" thumbnails... i would like to erase..

    Part of the problems started because my c-drive is not large enough (and i do not want to keep on spending money.......) so with help of DAZ i went to the F. drive

    with over a terrabite of space.. but there the problems started with proberbly material that DAZ was searching for elsewere

    I removed all from F again and went back to c. with the idea not to download all ...

    but now these old programs still give trouble.. as the things that I had prior to the move to f (and back) now are giving headaches

    Image is the empty thumbs that I would like to see "gone"

    You appear to be installing to the public Documents folder, which DS knows about, so that is OK. The other folder you have set in DIM, the My Daz 3D Connect Library, should not be theer however. If you find the items in the Installed tab of DIM, right-click, and select Show Installed Files is the path at the top the Public Documents location?

    That is sadly all a bit acacadabra for me (Dutch)...

    Let's first try to get all the thumbnails out of the products no longer installed (to save memory)

    What I currently do not want to use should not be in there....
