Applying an image on top of the skin texture?

Okay, I made an image I want to apply on TOP of the skin layer to make a character look like he's blushing im embarrassment, so I painted up a quick test of that over alpha, saved it out, and then fired up Daz Studio to apply it onto a character in order to see if I got it lined up right, particularly for the edges of the ears. I went into Surfaces, selected the head, drilled down to Face, Base, Diffuse, Base Color, opened the Layered Image Editor on Base Color, and.... wait, why is there no "Import an existing texture in as a new layer" sort of function here? Am I missing something? How do I overlay an image, such as say a blood splatter, onto the skin?

In LIE, try the + button to add a new layer.
Then the resource button to pick your image.
Create a new layer, then in the lower half of the dialogue click the resource buttn to browse for and load your image. You'll probably then want to chnage the belnding mode or add a mask.
