Completely Remove DAZ Studio?

I'm getting a lot of memory errors from DAZ Studio and I want to try a fresh reinstall to solve the problem.  So I uninstalled through the Windows 8 control panel and reinstalled.  My preferences were still in place for the fresh reinstall and eventually the memory issues came back.  I'm wondering if there is a way to cleanly wipe it off my drive so I can see if this will really solve the problem.  Thanks as always for the great advice!

  • Settings are either in the registry or in the AppData folder (or Appilication Support folder on a Mac) for Daz Studio. However, I'm not sure what those would have to do with memory issues - perhaps you could give some more information on the errors you are getting?

It basically keeps saying I'm running out of memory.  This happens when I try to put too many objects in a scene, try an iRay render, or try to make too many renders without restarting my machine.  It then usually crashes to black and then desktop and if I don't restart my machine, other stuff starts crashing.  It's usually fine for a while after a restart.  I tested my RAM and updated my graphics drivers.  All of that came up normal.

  • What are system specs?

16 gigs of RAM with a 970 GTX iNvidia card.  Windows 8 64 bit.  Running DS 9.4.122 I think.

  • 16 GB shoudl be enough for most things, though not for complex scenes. Are you leaving the render windows opten? That wil certainly use memory (Iray maintains the sceen description in memory, so that the render can be resumed, until the window is closed)?

I am leaving it open.  Will try closing that.  Manually deleting everything in the app data and program data folders, then doing a clean reinstall seemed to help a ton.  Thanks for the help.
