Question on a graphics card

Ok i saw a nice deal on a second hand Nvidia card: Asus STRIX-GTX980TI-DC3-6GD5-GAMING
Well this be an OK card to use for iRay renders?
Or would Asus DUAL-GTX1070-O8G
be a better choice (The price is almost the same)

In terms of gaming, there is not a lot of difference. However, for Iray renders, the 980Ti has more CUDA cores (2816) than the 1070 (1920), which should mean increased render speed and so lower render times. On the other hand though, the 1070 card has more memory, which will allow you to render larger scenes. So it probably boils down to whether you do a lot of large scenes which would make the extra memory of the 1070 more attractive than the faster rendering speed of the 980Ti.
I have a 980Ti and it is rare that I run out of memory whilst rendering. Those occasions when I have, a save, a close down of DS and back again usually means that I can render in Iray on the 980ti again. On a render yesterday, Daz Studio was using up around 12GB of RAM, but I was still able to render on the GPU (used about 5GB of memory there).
Here are some specs that might help:

EDIT: One other consideration - if they are around the same price, but the 1070 is new as opposed to the second had 980Ti, I would probably go with the new card.
In terms of raw computing power both cards are not that far away from each other.
As Dim Reaper mentioned the 1070 has less Cuda cores but they also run at a much higher clock speed.
Here is another comparision where you can see the "GFLOPs" as well: http://hwbench.com/vgas/geforce-gtx-1070-vs-geforce-gtx-980-ti
This could be an indicator for the Cuda performance. So in terms of Iray rendering times, there should be no big difference.
With the additional memory and a much lower power consumption (250W to 150W) I would also go for the 1070.
I have one in my computer and can really recommend it for Iray. It's a really good value for the price and I never ran out of memory so far.
Kind regards, Eagle99
Yes bot cards come at the same price, the 980TI is 6 euros more to be precise.
But eagle99's comments was kinda what i had in my head as well. The TI means most likely that i also need a new PSU my curent card uses 210W (AMD R9 280 Royal King, hence the upgrade)
I have a few larger scenes so the more memorey is indeed a big plus. The lower Power is also a bonus. I think i will go for the 1070. Thanks for your input.
