Is there a way to freeze transformations/transitions?

When fit to a G3 character, the SPEX Glasses tend to morph with whatever part of the body they're fitted to (whether the eyes are closed or open, or the bangs of hair), and it's proving to be rather annoying. Is there a way to freeze those transformations so that they don't morph at all, or is it hopeless? The SPEX set is rather amazing for its diversity, and I'm a bit disappointed that there isn't a similar set for later versions of Genesis.
