What is going on?

I've been experiencing a couple issues with DAZ 4.9 and was wondering if anyone had a solution, or at least an explanation of what is happeneing.

1) I'm working on a picture and suddenly the program skips to another asset. Maybe I'm moving a barrel then suddenly it shifts and now I'm moving a wall segment.

2) I'm working on a picture and suddenly the pointer vanishes.

Thanks for any feedback on this, its getting irritating.

  • The vanishing pointer is a known issue, there is a workaround I think (switch layouts, perhaps). The other issue also sounds like a mouse-related glitch - as if the button is seen as momentarily released so it drops what was being dragged and then picks up what is currently under the cursor - I think there have been a few previous reports of similar behaviour, for foregoing conjectural explanation feels familiar. The obvious first step is to check that your drivers are up to date; it might also be worth adjusting the Display Optimisation setting in Edit>Preferences>Interface tab (Daz Studio>Preferences>Interface tab for Mac). Assuming those don't fix the issue please make a bug report by opening a Technical Support ticket - more data may help the developers to rsolve the problem.

I realized it seems to happen most often when I am rotating an asset or moving one along an axis. Moving things with the slide switches seems to be what causes it, I can move things by changing the coordinates and there's no problem.

I believe I have workarounds for both these problems.

    1) I switched the mouse settings making my primary mouse button the right one on my mouse  for some reason that fixed it.

    2) when the mouse goes invisible try moving it to the default camera pulldown menu and click on it.  The mouse pointer for some reason returns.
