How to map the extra bones to the character's rig?

Hey,

I just noticed that some of the clothes I have bought have extra bones for example the skirt rig has

-Skirt Front

-Skirt Back

These two bones don't exist in the main Genesis3 rig and they won't be animated properly when I move the character, so I am wondering is there a way to actually remove these bones and instead use some of the Genesis3 bones that already exist.

Also my Daz3d knowledge is very limited so if anyone can actually do that I am willing to pay since I cannot contact the asset publisher.

Rigging skirts to follow the legs directly usually leads to bad results: the skirt gets distorted and doesn't pose realistically at all. That's why skirts usually have extra bones to pose them. That means extra work as you need to animate those bones yourself, but the results are much better

You could re-rig the skirt with the transfer utility if you really want it to follow the legs, but there's no guarantee it will behave properly in your animation.

Or if you have the latest DS beta you could try using the new dForce tools to make the skirt dynamic.

How do they make jeans or something like that to follow the legs movement then? I really like that skirt but it doesnt animate properly and I want to find a way how to do this..

Real pants actually follow the legs, so rigging them with the leg bones works. Skirts drape around legs, they don't follow them exactly.

Imagine for example that your character is wearing a long skirt (not too tight), and standing with the left leg in front. If you rig the skirt to have the same bones as the legs, then only the left part of the skirt will move, and the skirt mesh will be stretched in the middle because of that. Moreover both the front and back of the skirt will go up to follow the leg, but in real-life the back of the skirt would not move, only the front.

So using only the leg bones does not work for realistic skirt movements.

Thanks, I used the transfer utility tool and it seems to be working well, It's not perfect, but I would say 8/10.
