How to delete parts of the model in Daz?

Hey,
I am wondering how I can delete parts of the model for example I have boots model and I want to get rid of the stitches, I tried expanding the boots hierarchy, but I only see boots_30498 and nothing else, keep in mind that I want to delete that part of the mesh and get rid of all of its polygons as well. I am sure it's a separate part, because I can see it while decimating the whole model.

What you are wanting to do is something that must be done in a 3D modelling program, which DAZ Studio is not. Also, I assume that you understand that doing so will destroy the UV mapping of the object, requiring you to create new UV maps and textures as well?
Can I just hide these parts at least?
Check in Scene tab, if it appears in that list you can hide it by clicking the little Eye on the left.
Otherwise you can look in Materials tab and bring to zero the Opacity of its material.
Third option is to design a specific Opacity map.
These don't appear in the scene under boots, only the rig is there.
It looks as if theer are groups that will help. Switch to the Geometry Editor tool and make sure you have the Tool Settings pane open - you should see lists of groups and surfaces, click the + next to those you wish to remove. Right-click in the viewport, Geometry Visibility>Hide Selected Polygon(s). When all the unwanted parts are hidden right-click in the viewport, Geometry Editing>Delete Hidden Polygons. This chnages the vertex order so you will no longer be able to load new morphs or UV sets from OBJ files, but any already loaded will still work.
Save your work before hiding and deleting polygons. In my experience, hidden polygons will reappear the next time you load the project, so to be truly rid of them you must delete; but the delete operation frequently causes a program crash. So if you save everything when you're ready to hide, you can reload and retry as many times as necessary till DAZ Studio does what you want without crashing.
Yes, hiding is persession - hence the second step, removing them.
I followed the instructions als described above: select polygons, hide polygons, delete hidden polygons. Works. But then I lose all my selection sets. Yet it does not matter if the to delete polygons are part of a selection set or not.
How can I avoid losing the selection sets.
