Iray Server / Unrendered crevaces.

Hi.

Any time I render, my daz-fun (and computer use) comes to a screeching halt as my rig has all its resources taken over. I do understand there's an associated cost but I was hoping that iray server tab is what I think it is but I'm uncertain of its functionality. rentrender.com doesn't mention daz at all and scene uploading goes through ftp/proprietary sotware. migenius.com does but it has the 'Contact Us' button that's like a barrier between them and rank amateurs (totally me). Any attempts to transfer scenes to blender/other software have been catastrophic and multiple posts about iray server on this forum are either dated or end in 6 posts without info.

I also have this problem:

This is skin on skin. There is slight clipping and no amount of lights that don't completely undo the shadows get rid of these pixels. It's only a tiny part of a 4K render and they are easy to photoshop out, but it's a hassle. It ran for a long time and the rest of the image is nearly perfect, but any time I have skin clipping or coming close to other skin I get these seemingly completely unrendered pixels.

Any help is appreciated.

Do you get it with other geometry boundaries as well, such as where wall meets floor? If so, this is an issue with some renderers, Iray included.

Otherwise, I wonder if it's an error in the ambient occlusion buffer within the render, somehow becoming manifest with SSS skin settings. As an experiment try turning off the thin-walled channel in the surfaces tab, which will cancel out any subsurface settings.

While the specks may look like unrendered pixels, I think they are in fact fireflies.

They show up as pure black in faststone image viewer, but white in photoshop/paint/here, if that means anything.

I have rendered walls that I positioned to clip and had no problems, I'll try what you said about the skin settings, thank you.

If they're fireflies they'd be white in all programs, so it doesn't sound like that's the issue.

Let us know if anything fixes this.
