Custom Product Metadata not Searchable in Smart Content

Wanted to create a clean thread reguarding this issue cause this came up during a different issue I was having. Since re-installing DAZ on my brand new computer, I am no longer able to search for custom added products in Smart Content tab by Artist. I did find that all of my custom products seem to be showing up in Smart Content and seem to be working with a few caveats.
I have an external drive called "Backup 1 HDD" which has all of my DAZ and third party content. Everything worked correctly on my old computer including my custom Metadata for 3rd party products. All were searchable by artist in SmartContent and with correct categories, product types, etc. Aside from some known problem products that are still missing metadata from the DAZ store itself.
Here is my setup:
Backup 1 HDD / DAZ 3D >
- > 3rd Party (Runtime subfolder for Rendo content, etc)
- > Studio > My Library > Runtime > Support (all DAZ 3D* files, my custom ones as Local_User* and my UserData_1.dsx has correct date stamp from last export)
- > Studio > My DAZ Connect Library > Data > Cloud
So here are a few oddities I noticed... I have searched through the SmartContent categories and most of my custom Products are in fact showing up if I do not load a character into scene, but if I load up say Victoria 4, some will not show up in SmartContent anymore even though the metadata defined them as compatible with V4. Nothing is searchable by Artist anymore and when I try to load some of the products, it gives me an "unsupported product" error. This of course didn't happen before because I was very careful to assign proper compatibility base, etc. Also, I used to be able to highlight all the products and "merge into scene" and they would all load up. Now that doesn't work either. I need to double click each item individually.
FYI - I followed this doc 100% to customize dozens of third party products and it worked great up until now. I even created proper thumbnail jpg's!
So if there are any Metadata and custom product gurus out there... I could use some help here. It took me a whole week to do all of this custom work in the first place.
Thanks!

I create metadata for third party products. My observation is that if I enter the Artist(s) name in the Artists: box in the Content DB Editor, I can search for an Artist's products two ways.
1. Enter: key::<artistname> in the Smart Content "Products" search box.
2. Select an Artist's product. On the Info tab, click on the Artist's link in the Artist(s) section which will populate key::<artistname> in the Smart Content "Products" search box (and execute the search).
See attached for an example of product metadata created for RedzStudio products purchased at Rendo.
Yup. That is exactly what I have done as well. And before my original computer died and I had to re-install DAZ on this new one, everything worked fine.
Please check out my screenshots. For instance you will see several thumbs for products by AlfaSeed. I think I created proper MetaData and categorized them. You can also see the Artist title in the Info Tab. And my search results with both selecting the name or searching result in 0.
The only thing I noticed in your image that I am wondering is that none of my items are showing a Product ID. Could that be the issue?
Bingo!!! Yup. It looks like the missing product ID field was the issue. Not sure why the search used to work on my old computer, but I think I can put this to rest now. Now time to move on the massive amount of Rendo content I have!
I also just exported my User Data as well, so fingers crossed that I don't lose this stuff again in an update to DAZ or if I ever have to reimport the MetaData.
Thanks!
Great! I have been populating the ProductID with codes for the third party store. RENDO, HWIRE, MEC4D and the like.
I have since found example scripts to manually add and remove stores from CMS, leaving the Product ID available to be populated with the third party product's actual product ID. See links on this page in the Metadata section to Add Store ID, Remove Store ID and List Store ID's.
Since I've been using ProductID as a third party store field for many years, I decided to just let things go as is, knowing me, I'd want to go back and fix everything retroactively. Unlike DAZ products, I don't have easy access to a third party's product ID so I can use for searches.
