Hi everyone,

I'm Chris and I am new to Daz3D. I've been chatting with Customer Service off an on of like a week and it's not working. I think I have figured out that I have a metadata issue, but let's see what you all think...

I'm currently using the Aiden from Genesis 3. I've tried to put his genitalia on him, but I keep getting the "An error occurred while reading the file, see the log file for more details" or nothing happens and Aiden just stands there...

Per my discussion with Daz Customer Service, I've done the reboot metadata thing, I've deleted files in a separate "cloud" folder....

I've tried looking up YouTube videos but I can't seem to find the issue. I'm wondering if I need to "start over" and redownload or something because I figure if this is happening with this file, there are probably a others somewhere within the program that don't work either, I just haven't found said files yet. I found a forum on here to update metadata and change compatability stuff, but I think I just made a bigger mess of my files as I have no idea what I'm doing, so I think I should stop before I mess up my system anymore. The good thing is that I don't have any projects saved, so if I need to redownload stuff or whatever, I won't be losing anyhting.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

PS - I upload Aiden from the Smart Content and then the file(s) I'm trying to upload are coming from the Content Library because I can't find them via Smart Content. I think I figured out that the genitalia is labeled under materials. Could that be the problem? I am on a Mac and I'm using Daz 4.9 64 bit - or at least this is what I understand I am using...

    The screen shots seem to be of his material preset so a couple of questions :)

    1. Have you actually added the genetalia to him - The attachment is found in People - Genesis 3 Male - Anatomy

    2. Once it is attached to your figure make sure you select the Genitalia before trying to apply the material preset

    Note that you need to have purchased a Genesis 3 Adult Male Pro Bundle EG Michael 7 etc to get the Anatomy

    Do you have one of the Genesis 3 Propacks.    The Anatomical Elements only come with the main character ProPacks.   Aiden is a character for Michael 7 so you should also have the Michael7 propack for him to work.

    Just wanted to add that if you don't need him nude, you can just use him without the important bits.  As a rule, any character across all generations needs the purchase of a pro pack to have those.  Except for the teen pro bundles, teens never come with those bits.
