Quick Question RE: Uber Shader

If I have an item with a transmap set as an emitter using the Uber shader, will it emit light only from the visible parts of the object? Or do I have to actually alter the object itself to conform EXACTLY to the shape of the part I want emitting light? Or is it somewhere in between (such as a special setting somewhere that controls which portions of the surface emit light)?

  • If the Cutout Opacity is zero it won't emit, but if it's even slightly over zero it will (that's how the Ghostlight products work).

  • So basically, any portion that has FULL transparency will not emit, but the rest will. Awesome, that actually makes things really easy for me; thanks so much! I really appreciate the info! :D
