Render size

Hi, how can I increase the render quality / size of the renders. For instance say I wanted to make a background illustration for a poster: how do I make the render resolution bigger to create a larger image?

    Render Settings>Editor tab>General group, adjust the size. Make sure the Dimension Prset isn't set to Active Viewport, if you wish to chnage the proportions turn Constrain Proportions off. For printing, where you want a physical size at a certain PPI, type the sum in for width and height - for example, for 16 inches at 150PPI type

    16 * 150

    in the size box.

    If you are new to this be aware that increasing the rendered resolution may cause your render to take longer than your set max render time. Basically, if your renders look half done, come back and ask how to change the settings.
