Multiple problems w Daz Studio 4.5

I'm getting frustrated. I've done four different "clean downloads" (Uninstall and Reinstall) of Studio 4.5 on my Mid-2011 Mini-Mac, running Mountain Lion. DIM loads my legacy content into two different locations, one on my User>share folder, and one in my user>(john doe)>documents folder. Content files get lost, are misfiled, etc. For example, I've built a nice character using V4.2, but I can't get any legacy clothing to work on her, much less find said clothing. I just bought the Cardigan Sweater and DS can't find that.

This character can't be adjusted. I want her to be a small woman, 5'2", with an athletic build, but I can't even find tools or settings to shrink her boobs. I sized her down to 90% of the default height, because I also want to build a guy (M4 or Gen) who is 6'6" tall, so I "grew" him to 110%. I can't modify his head to fit. Clothing from V4 does not fit Girl. Clothing for Gen won't load or "cannot be found..

IMHO, Something isn't ready for prime time. All I want to do is be able to make characters to be used for a graphic novel. Why am I having to much trouble in doing that simple task?

PS I m totally bummed that Bryce isn't working on the new Mac OS's.

    Legacy seems to have variable meanings here. Legacy files in the DIM are files for any version earlier than 4.5. Any files for genesis that are legacy would mean they work in 4.0 and 4.5. Other older files work in other older versions of studio.

    When you say legacy about the clothing does that also mean that they are clothes made for V4? Because unlike genesis V4 can only use clothes created for that female figure or one of the other morphs for V4 like aiko 4. But those clothes have to have the additional morphs included to work on other shapes/sizes. So unless the outfit for the girl has an V4 morph added then it wouldn't fit properly. if it has a morph for v4 it is likely to be in the properties. Also which morph additions do you have for V4 that your looking for? I've not used v4 in a while but pretty sure that her morphs will be under properties not shape.

    Hey Khory;

    Maybe the best idea for me is to 86 V4 in favor of Genesis. And I'll bet if I do the same for Poser, it would be good.How can I get Poser stuff into a "dead" files folder? By file extension?

    How do I change Gen's measurements? I want to create her own face. How do I do that?

    Just askin'...

    Poser files will be located in the poser formats section of your content rather than the usual DAZ locations. If you don't have your poser runtime showing you need to add it by going to preferences (at the top under file) then the content library tab. At the bottom is content directory manager. You can add the location of your poser runtime in there. I can't tell you to dump V4 or not. It at least partly depends on how much money you have sunk into her already. My personal preference is genesis because I find it far more flexible and because some clothing made for other figures can be fit to it. On the other hand I have no clue about ease of use for genesis in poser because I don't have a new enough version and that is a consideration for you.

    As for changes to V5/genesis there are many options. Quite a few characters come with morphs that can be used at 100% or as parts, DAZ sells some general morphs. There are also a variety of free morphs out there including Dietrying's free morphs found here: http://www.sharecg.com/v/58198/

    First off, how do you install content, using DIM or Content installers?
    Second, where do you install to and what directories do you have setup in DS as content directories.

    I've been running 4.5 since it's arrival and I have five different directories setup on one machine, and one on another and it works well with both setups.

    And for Bryce, yes, (you need to bug DAZ about it until they fix it)
