Can not apply shader to terrain in daz studio

I created a small terrain in vue 2015 and exported it (with out any textures ) as an obj. it imports in to daz studio no problem but when i add a shader to the terrain there is no details for example a ground shader with a mix of leaves is just a flat brown colour no leaves can be seen yet the same texture applied to a cube or sphere shows all the leaves .Why is that Ive tried adjusting the number of tiles makes no difference at all

Sounds like you did not UV unwrap it...without UV mapping, most shading functions fail, especially things like tiling.
If you are doing it in Iray, you could apply the shader as a decal, which can do projection.
or you could use one of my procedural shaders, also ignores UV.
Most cgi modeling apps should be able to create a simple planar UV map, or you could pick up the free UV Mapper app to do the same.
