Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 do not work in Poser, because they have a different bone structure type, and Genesis 8 uses jcms and things that do not wotk in Poser at all. There's a way to cripple G3 and G8 to work in Poser, though, if you are okay with lessened functions and looks.
Unfortunately, neither Genesis 3 nor Genesis 8 are supported in Poser 11. Previous generations could be used with the use of the DSON importer/exporter (Genesis and Genesis 2), and generation 4 figures (Victoria 4, Michael 4) and earlier are supported natively in Poser. There are workarounds for Genesis 3, including the Genesis 3 Poser Updater by Willdial available for free over at Renderosity, but I personally have not used them so I cannot comment on their effectiveness. There is also a thread in the Renderosity forums that discusses the use of the aforementioned Updater for Genesis 3 with Genesis 8 with some degree of success. Again, I cannot speak to the results myself.
I have successfully imported Genesis 8 male to Poser as well as a library of Poses and they work well. However the Genesis 8 male figure has strange eyes: All bright White. I can map some colored irises to it using some maps and trans maps, but can't do a thing with tinting the white part of the eye ( I think it's the sclera ). Do I have to import the eyes separately? Or did something go wrong with the textures & Materials?? Am attaching a shot of the head--also no eyelaashes...do I have to do them separately as well??

As to genesis 3, it can be adapted for use in poser11 to some degree, see this thread

Please Help,

For Genesis9, under Genesis9Eyes, set the EyeMoisture transparency to 1.
Don't know if it works for Genesis8, but it may be a start.
Just tried w/ Gen8...set the CORNEA transparency to 1.
