Node Selection Tool Not Working

Does anyone else ever lose the ability to use the Node Selection tool on a figure?

I have a figure that I posed using a combination of partial canned poses and tweaking.  For some reason after loading up the scene one day, I can no longer select parts of the figure to move using the Node Selection tool.  I can select the character's hair, but not any part of the body.  Tried restarting Studio, rebooting the PC, tried going to the Posing/Shaping tab--nothing worked.  The only way I can select any body part to pose is to select the body part from the body hierarchy in the Scene tab.  Then I can pose it.

Running Studio 4.8 Pro on Windows 7 x64.  Don't usually have any issues like this, so I'm thinking I may have done something (changed a setting) without realizing it.

    Never mind, figured it out.  That stupid little checkmark in the Scene tab for the Genesis 3 figure was exed out for some reason.  Once I cliked on it and it turned back into the check mark I could select body parts again. Why is that there?

    So that you can make items unselectable so that they don't get in the way (for example, if you are trying to pose a figure in a vehicle you might make the vehicle unselectable so that you can select the figure and pose it without having to carefully avoid the vehicle).
