Last update to the Daz Install Manager killed all my smart content

Why does this happen every time there is an update to the DIM? None of my smart content works now, all the metadata is gone I guess, or corrupted. Who knows. Whatever the case none of the the stuff in smart content knows what is compatible with anything else. And it all happened after I allowed the stupid DIM to update.
This is exactly why I refuse to update to DS 4.9 and why I still run Win 7 Pro. Updates always break more things than they fix.
I spent days reinstalling everything last time this happened.

This doesn't happen for most users, so it isn't an absolute issue. It's therefore likely either that something went wrong during isntallation, or that your secrity software is blocking things, or that it's an issue with using an older version of DS (though others will be doing that too).
What security software are you using?
Which version of Daz Studio?
My smart content went kaflooey last week, I also believe due to an update (Im still using 4.8), but fixed by reimporting the metadata, which IIRC is in the smart content tab options menu dropdown. Took a while (couple hours i think) but fixed.
Content Library option menu (lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab)>Content DB Maintenance>check Reimport Metadata
Ok now I understand thank you. Yes I was aware that plugins need to be updated. And of the sss color change if it's what you mean. If you are forced to use 4.8 then I guess the best way will be to stop using the DIM and use manual install instead. This way you don't have to update the DIM.
