Creating .gif animations with Daz

I'm trying to learn the best way to create animated gif images using Daz.
First question is how many images are best for a simple looping giif? Most gif tutorials on the web assume that you have to use whatever images you have handy. None offer advice on the best number of images to create for your gif. Any suggestions?
Second quesion, what size should the images be? I'm not planning to upload these so I just want a size that will provide a decent looking final product on my desktop.
Thanks

Well, as they say, "it depends." Lol
number of images will be tied to the length of your loop and how smooth you want the animation to be. 30 frames/sec will be very smooth, but you can easily drop well below that depending on how much motion there is and your tolerance for "jumpiness." And size is completely up to you.
Of course, both "more frames" and "bigger" will increase your rendering times.
