Grass Shader for DAZ Studio (Rock and Grass Bundle)

I just picked up the Rock and Grass Bundle and I can't seem to get it to work. The examples of how it should look are on the product page: https://www.daz3d.com/rock-grass-bundle

But even using the default scene settings that come with the bundle I just get smooth, shiny surfaces. Example attached. Any clues as to what I'm doing wrong? The included manual doesn't seem to cover this problem.

    This is for 3Delight. Are you using that as your render engine?

    Judging by the look of the ground and the cloud background, I'm guessing no...it's got that Iray look, to me.

    Oh, it's a 3Delight product? I had no idea. Thanks. I know it would take a lot of work to relable every product page but it's frustrating that a lot of stuff made for 3Delight doesn't work for Iray and isn't marked as such.

    3Delight has been around a lot longer than Iray.  If the product does not mention Iray in the Title, Description, or "What's included and Features" then I would assume that it does not have compatible shaders.

    If you bought it recently, I would put in a support ticket asking for a refund.  They are very good about things like that.

    I had same issue and was wondering what I was doing wrong. I wonder if they can update this to Iray rather than refunding.

    They can't, get a refund. ;)

    Though if you poke around in my free Iray pack from my sig, there are a few procedural rock shaders that might do the trick for you. Grass... eeeeeh, not so much.

    The problem is that the way Iray handles displacement is based entirely on the mesh of the object, while in 3DL it was more... flexible. So in 3DL, a simple plane with lots of pointy 'grass'? Easy. Iray? Newp, gotta make a 3 million polygon surface...

    Keep in mind that Iray rendering was only added to DAZ|Studio a year or so ago, and only a small number of earlier items have been updated to include Iray materials. As a rough guide, look at the SKU number on the store page. If it's earlier than about 21000-22000 then it came out before Iray and has either (or both) 3Delight or Poser materials. Note that not everything with a later SKU will have Iray materials, but the newer it is, the more likely it will have them.

    It was more like three years, actually, but the problem here isn't just poor textures. I could deal with that, plenty of things made for 3Delight still function fine in Iray with a little adjustment. The problem in this case is that the product doesn't work at all on Iray. Anyway, I got a refund so it's not a big deal.

    Hey guys,

    I had another look at theses shaders and even when I click on the 3d delight tab it still looks the same...nothing has changed from that shiny look. Is there any reason why I cant get the 3d delight to look like the way its supposed to look?

    It won't look like anything until you render it in 3DL

    Thats exactly what the issue was. Just a shame you cant use any lights with this product.
