Need help choosing a computer

Just getting into animation and am looking to purchase a new computer. I'm not rich, so I would like some suggestions on what to look at to keep from 3 days to tender 4 seconds, lol.

    In my opinion an intel i5 16 gb ram + geforce gtx 4 gb vram is the very minimum to work with graphics.

    A good system would be intel i7 32 gb ram + 2x geforce gtx 8 gb vram but that is not cheap.

    And to work with DS you will need 3rd party assets for scene optimization anyway, even for the i7 solution.

    That said, you can get along even with an intel i3 8 gb ram + geforce gtx 2 gb vram. But that will need you to optimize your scenes and system very carefully. That means a lot of extra work and limitations on assets you can use.

    Big questions need to be asked first.

    1. What is the budget you are looking at?
    2. Custom Build, Big Box Retail, or Customized mail order?
    3. What software and render engine do you use?
