DAZ Install Manager Update Error

I went ahead and tried to run the Install Manager update that popped up on my screen when I opened DIM, but it ran into an error and now I can't install it at all. I can't access it. I get an error message that it couldn't install, and if I try to run it, I get an "unknown error" message, so it won't open at all. Did I do something crazy, or is there a glitch in the update? I now no longer have DIM, so I will have to manually installl anything new.

Oops, looks like the whole screen shot didn't show.

I'm really muddled here. You just need to click on the image to get all of it.

    having the same problem

  • What security software are you running? This seems to be affecting a number of people, but not everyone, so it seems likely there is some cause beyond the base OS.

I had the same problem. If you notice that 1 at the end of the DIM (DAZ3DIM1) I found if I removed the 1 it went ahead and installed. I had numerous problems after that though with installing the latest version of Studio 4.9.

Maybe your download was corrupted on the way down? Have you tried downloading the new version from your Product Library (under "Install Manager Win") to get a fresh version and try running that exe? I've had a couple of problems in the past with DIM trying to update itself so I always go the manual download method now (and run while DIM is not running).

The DIM update installed flawlessly for me today.

Thank you all, for your help. I downloaded the file from the Product Library and I deleted the 1 at the end of the file name. It worked! I now have my DIM back! It takes a village, doesn't it? All of you are great!
