    Superdrop 2.0
    Upgrade to my previous render:
    1. Larger logo
    2. Made a displacement map for the boot tops
    3. Softened the facial expression so he looked less angry
    4. Did a little studying on getting a better render out of 3Delight

Looks good. How many shading samples do you use?

    Thanks!
    64

You men bucket size? For example I use 4 samples x and four samples y, shading rate .5 and bucket size 32 for working previews
Are you talking about light shading rate or render shading rate?

    ETA: Oops, sorry. x=16 y=16
    Shadow samples=64
    Shading rate=.5
    Bucket size=16

    Uhmmm good!

    Late Easter dinner? :)
Jealous. I had a dead fish on a bun and a salad.

No, not a late Easter dinner. We actually do not celebrate Easter. We have been having these type of meals since I stopped eating red meat 2 months ago. We eat a lot of fish and bird.

    Hello everyone.

I did not get a chance to say Thank You for the well wishing and positive thoughts before, back when I was complaining about all the medical testing I was going through. THANK YOU!

I haven't been around the last few weeks because I'm trying to deal with the fact that my kidneys are failing. Trying hard to stay positive but I am not sure where, if anywhere, I am going from here.

Anyway, I consider you guys friends and I wanted to let you know I might not be around often and why, while I work this out. Still, though, this community puts a smile on my face, which I dearly need right now, and I'll try and keep participating.

    Wishing you all well!

    Sincerely,
    7thStone (Alan)

    ....ouch,

I try to keep the parameters toward the low end, that's why I was curious

    No complaints today. :)

Lovely outside, will warm up, it's Friday, it's Payday, I got a discount on my room rent because I've been there a month, I have a turkey and Swiss sammich for lunch, and I'm going out to meet a friend I haven't see in a year tonight!

Oh, ONE complaint: the jalapeno bacon cheeseburger I had last night is taking it's toll on my digestive system. :blank: It sure tasted good going down, but.. now I pay! :red: :red:

*edit* New non-complaint, Daz finally fixed my order and I'm downloading my Serpent Goddess expansion now! Wheee! :snake: :snake:

...OK more playing around on the new rig.

Threw a lot more stuff at it this time including heavy transmaps and big textures under UE lights.

    Render time 8min 55seconds

...trying to recapture part of my youth (if that is even remotely possible).

    Charts and graphs. :blank:

    Data acquisition and visualization. :blank:

High-level application design and coding. :blank:

And here I thought they hired me for my extensive embedded systems experience. :blank: And I'm graphing data from the very hardware I programmed. :blank:

Feels like I'm back to my programmer/analyst days, when I was in my late 20s. :blank: Sort of...

Meh, it's a living. :blank: I'll go eat lunch and then.. code more graphing. :bkank:

And what a fetching outfit. We sold a lot of that one during MM compared to other stuff for some reason. Maybe a lot of people feel Flower Child nostalgia this time of year. ;)

    slightly off topic:

i got bored today and looked at some budget processors (CPUs)

The slowest one I found is Intel Celeron G530 Sandy Bridge 2.4GHz Dual-Core with Intel HD Graphics for $50 USD.

Looks like Intel stopped making single-core Celeron processors.

My single-core computer is too slow for 3D graphics and harddrive intensive programs. I need to save some money to buy a new computer, but i need to pay bills. Maybe a rich relative will give me some money. lol Wishful thinking. Ok, I'm going to play with Vue now.

    Very cool!

ETA: From theMarx Brothers The Big Store:

Dumont (kittenish after Groucho steals a peck): You make me think of my youth.
Groucho: Really? He must be a big boy by now.

That happened a while ago. Right around when things in general got worse. I think it has something to do with the new CEO, but maybe not.
