Saving Genesis 3 Character Presets?

So I've been trying to save Genesis 3 models I've molded and shaped as character presets so I can just open them and drop them in a scene. However, every time I go to save as -character preset - and go through that it saves the characters as their own scene instead of as a preset, so I cannot just drop them into a current scene that's open. This is very frustrating and was wondering if anyone else had this problem or had a solution.
Thanks.

Do Character Presets work correctly for other figures?
I just tried a Gen 2 model and same thing. The model doesn't show up in Saved Files Tab or the Figure Tab, and is being saved as a .DUF scene even though I'm doing it through save as - character present.
I've saved poses as pose presets and they show up just fine. I'm quite confused by this.
Character presets should default to the Presets folder. I just made a G3F Character preset, saved, then pulled into an existing scene and a new scene. No issues.
.Duf is a general format, not specifically a scene.
One of the nice features about DAZ|Studio is there's very rarely only one way to do things. Have you tried saving through the Content Library tab? Navigate to the folder you want to put things into (or create a folder if there isn't one), click on the "+" at the bottom of the Content Library tab, select the file type, and everything after that should be the same as the other save procedure. Except that you don't get the "save location" dialog box, so it's a bit more difficult to lose track of the file you just saved, or put it somewhere that isn't where you thought.
