Installation Questions

I've not used Daz Studio for a long time and I've gotten a new computer.  I have a few questions.  On the software page it says Windows 7 or 8 but not Windows 10--are there issues with Windows 10 and Daz Stuido?  Do I need both the 32 and 64 Bit versions of the application?  What is the downside of only installing the 64 Bit version?  Does the content folder have to live in the common files folder or can I keep them on another hard drive?  I've had problems with setting up studio in the past and any insights you can give me would be appreciated.

    1) Windows 10 is fine as they have it listed in both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of DAZ Studio when you file a support ticket to DAZ 3D.

    2) You only need 32 bit or only need 54 bit. In most cases unless you are using an old version of Mimic Pro that requires 32 bit version of DAZ Studio what you want is the 64 bit version of DAZ Studio, all plugins except the old version of Mimic Pro as far as I know, have been updated to use 64 bit too, although they are also updated to be 32 bit version too in oder to use 32 bit DAZ Studio.

    3) No downside only the possibility to more effectively use you computer's RAM, CPU, and GPU

    4) You may keep them on another HD and it you have a lot of content it is reccomment you move that from the system drive to keep the system drive from filling up

The Installation and the content folder can be on different drives. Niether one of them has to be on C: You just need to have the content paths in Studio and the install and content paths in Install manager.
