Windows snipping tool and spot renders

tophandtophand Posts: 123

something that has been helpful to me and may be to other noobs is the use of the windows snipping tool when doing spot renders. I can do a spot render, grab it with my snipping tools and then label the capture with the changes or light settings.  for example, I saved one as key100 fill75 bg200.jpg.  I can change settings, label the new one and have a side by side comparison  without spending the time on a full render.

Look Mama!  I'm helping!!!

You can spot render directly to a file without the need for the snipping tool. Select the Spot Render tool and go to the Tool Settings pane and select Render to: New Window.

I dont know if it's usefull to you or not as i'm still figuring Daz out myselfsmiley but after spending  time using spot render or Aux viewpoint to help with setting light levels & tweaks

I now just drop the resolution of the scene in render settings to sommthing like 800x800 & use the camera to do a render. On my clunker of a PC using the GPU's it renders about 50% faster

to File or in my case i just drag the piccy to another monitor for side by side comparrisons.

Have you been following this thread? There are a lot of tips that are very useful. The spot rendering tip was also discussed there in the last day or so. Take a look and I bet you'll find some things to make your Daz experience more fun and productive.
