Where is this white coming from?
I'm very new to Daz and for the most part havn't had alot of problems figuring it out but this one has me totally stumped. Almost every thing I render has this horrible white on it that's suppose to be reflection I guess. I've tried everything I can think of and searched all over the web but can't figure out how to fix this. It's the worst with bright things too, like flames etc...Also I don't rem the tools name but the one tool that you can select parts of an object to change the appearance, when I select that to change a part of my image everything goes black and I have to exit Daz and restart again.

Can ypu post an image to illustrate the problem
This one is not quite as white as the other's but it has more white on it.
Do a little real-world experiment. Take a flashlight, turn it on and point it in the direction you are looking. Now look at some slightly reflective surfaces? Notice something.
The exactly same thing happens in 3D.
under surfaces look at specular and reflection and turn those down if you want matte surfaces, that leather chair is set to look like one but if you prefer a fabric look to leather adjusting the shader can do it.
I understand about the reflection, but everything is coming out completely white, and when I click on the tool (can't rem the name) that allows me to change it in surfaces everything goes black
Something is wrong with your object's surface if it completely turns white.
This is not what your exmple image shows. Your example shows a properly rendered image with correct highlight reflections based on a surface that mimics leather.
Repeat your steps, make note of the tool name, and post some specifics. Otherwise, people can only guess, and all the opinions and suggestions will just confuse matters.
Have you tried switching the camera headlight off? It looks like that is what is reflecting, it can cause that effect of white light bouncing straight back at you (as noted by Ascania above).
Select the camera in the Scene tab, and go to its properties and headlamp, and switch it off there.
If you are rendering from the perspective view, you will always have it on.
