Enlarging nipple texture

I bought a character set but it's nipple size, texture-wise is too small. Enlarging them using morphs makes it awkward because a huge part of flesh is interpreted as the areola and it  enlarges together with the nipple. This isn't DAZ-ish I know because it has more to do with paint software, so can any expert here advise how to properly enlarge the painted-on texture without making the result look like an obvious copy and paste job? I tried to clone tool on GIMP...very limited success.

    Doable in Gimp/Photoshop/etc.

Enlarge too much and there could be issues with scaling that could become apparent.

Load the texture into Software (Photoshop for example).

On a new layer, copy the nipple and surrounding area - testing this, I used the clone-stamp tool at about 500px (on a 4096x4096 texture); make sure there is little or no hardness so the texture you copy blends well with the original texture.

    Select the area you coppied.

Scale it up the desired amount.

Position ruler guides (Ctrl R in photoshop to bring them up, then grab them and position of the centre of the nipple).

    Postion the scaled-up nipple.

You will need to make sure that the nipple (or whatever you're scaling) still looks acceptable; for example: when scaling up skin, if the pores are visible in the shot, then they could appear much larger than elsewhere - this would look wrong.

I got and learn 3d coat for mainly such purpose, it can remove those  problems cheeky

(adjust nipple and areola texture fit, or change color,  with poligon line)

Then  I know a few vendor texture not fit well poligons even though I use the character shape. (of course use light UV setting)

then when I apply my morph, those miss match texture can be more visible. (eg nipple part slide side , ) and we can not check them untill we buy product.

I really hope vendor offer image, in  their private web page which can  see clear mat, how their texture arranged with poligon flow.

after I experienced a those trouble mat, I actually not buy texture from those vendor. (I do not know, it happen only about the character or it happen about most of the vendor character,, just disapointted much)

(I raelly hoped to get ,and finally them, then disapointed, only about those area not correctly painted)

we buy texture which include those mat. if I  need not care about nipple , I prefer buy texture which not include those part at all.

then I hope to check, actually it is correctly arranged or not untill get them.   and I believe, many customer may not complain or send report for such things

even though they feel, it is wrong.    To show  problem I may need to send many nude photo for support again and again. (it is foolish enough  and many of us not hope so)

I have the same issue but for breast in general and especially for the clothing that covers the breast. In the same manner, the texture gets all stretched and I fail to figure out how to keep the texture more or less like its supposed to be.

It's aways a good advice to have the right UV-Layout image with some transapency on a top layer of what you are working on in the image-editor.

Here's a link SnowSultan's Stuff - Seam Guides to get those UV-Layouts or Seam Guides as they are also called for the Basic Daz Figures.

But be caefull - some Daz characters uses special UV-Layouts - check the Surface tap and look for UV-Sets in DS.

If you are working on those you can easily create an UV-Layout for yourself with the mcjTemplate for DS script  or export an OBJ-File and use Blender to create your UV-Template.

As I sayed if used in an image-editor on a seperate transparent layer you can also use the magic wand and select all the white collor between the lines and mask or delete them to have a better view on the texture-map - thats how I use them.

if  texture fit well for default shape and uv sets, but your morph hardly change,,it can not keep average uv tenstion then cause issue often.   there is no way without you tweak  UV or texture.

if it is procedural texture,  you can try adjust tile setting. or if it is one point tatoo with same background color,,, you can export image then scale them. (cut off tatoo,  and add new background layer etc,,)

Then I know many professional vendor still use 2d tools to offer good mat and texture sets,  but as hobby user,  learning 3d paint tools remove many difficulities to make mats.   even though we have same tools (or 2d paint tools better for tweaking),  clear see current modify in 3d world with current deformed mesh with current UV setmake us easy to adjust .

Even though I send to 2d editor then use plenty tools , layers,, and modify roughly, after all I need to check them on 3d mesh, then find I only need just a little bit slide ,but to return 2d tool is annoying.  I do not say which 3d tools is best, but  if you often hope to tweak mat, or hope to make new texture for your clothing, actor,etc,3d paint tool is worth to get it.

(I only have 3d coat, and many use subsurface painter I think,(trend 3d paint tool?) , or you can play with blender too (it is perfect free!  and if you learn 3d paint in blender, all work flow can use, when you get other 3d paint tools )
