Activation code for Reality 4

Tech support please advise:

Purchased Reality through Daz, but not sent an activation code to run program on Mac. Will need to request a refund if this can not be resolved. Have sent an email over support Daz mail and still no response, thank you in advance for your help, Serenity Baye

Did you check in your Account profile   https://www.daz3d.com/customer/account

All your serial numbers should be listed there.

When you say you emailed Support.   You should file a support ticket  using the Contact us button, which is at the bottom of each forum page, and cite Sales as the relevant dept. https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  • Filed a support ticket yesterday just called it mail and received confirmation from Daz that my question has been received but nothing more from Daz.

I used my serial number to register my Reality 4 and after several attempts realized their automated function was not working so went the manual route.

Now Reality confirms my product is registered but they will send me an activation code? A second step to getting the program working in my Poser 11 as I can see we just basically paid $49.95 for a product we don't have the activation code to activate Reality.

    Thanks for helping, SB

  • A Few back and forths with creator of Reality, and activation finally set and it's working now.

As stated earlier in the thread  When Products are purchased through the Daz 3D store then serial numbers are added to the customers account dashboard, under "Serial Numbers"

  • Any Suggestions?

Reality 4 no longer rendering in Poser Pro 11 interface...only in Lux?? Any Advise?

?? If I am understanding your question...

Reality exports your scene to luxrender, your scene renders in luxrender outside of the host program. Working as intended. Reality itself does not do any rendering, just an interface between programs.

While your scene is rendering you can continue to work in poser on another scene, or the same scene really, but if you decide to edit the rendering scene you will have to start the render over to see the changes.

FYI you can adjust your lighting and cameras in lux during the render. If you have multiple lights that you want to be able to adjust individually make sure you go to the light tab in reality before you start the render and assign each light to its own group. They are all assigned to the group Meshlights by default, so just change to light 1, light 2, light top, light side, whatever. Then once teh render is running in lux you can adjust each light, including color temp, and also all the camera parameters, fstop, iso, etc, plus you can play around with film settings, advantix 400, kodacolor, fujifilm, etc.

One last BIG tip, to use luxrender correctly make sure you turn on exposure controls (camera tab checkbox in reality) for your camera or lux will default to autolinear, which tries to autobalance your lighting/camera so when you play around with the lights it will look like nothing is happening. If you forget to turn on exposure controls you can turn them on in lux by switching the kernel from autolinear to linear in the imaging tab.

Best practice is to 1) assign all your lights to separate groups, 2) turn on your camera exposure controls and pick some settings, then 3) launch the render, wait for your scene to get going, 4) adjust the lights and camera to where you want them, 5) go back to reality and enter the settings you dialed in in lux, then 6) close and restart the render with your new light/camera settings.

Very Helpful information, thank you for posting. After Lux renders the scene, is there a way to export back into Poser? Also if there are any recent vids for Poser 11/Reality4  camera settings on rendering please post if possible. Thanks.

Sorry dont understand, why would you want to 'export back into poser'?

Rendering a scene is the last step (aside from postwork) creating the image file, there is no more, you are done.

If you have to fix something you go back to the scene in poser, make your changes and rerender the scene.

I recommend you grab the free reality 'perfect shot' scene here: http://preta3d.com/pre-made-scenes/

Its a good starting point for learning, 3 mesh lights, camera, background plane and ground. Intended to be used to just drop a figure in, pose and hit render. Maybe delete the background and ground, create a null primitive, attach the lights and camera to it, save as a scene (not a subset or you will lose all your reality settings, light settings, camera settings, materials settings, etc), then load that into a new scene to use as your starting lighting rig. Just play, move the lights out so they capture a larger area, drop in some figures, position your camera, laugh at teh results, move lights, fix poses, render again... read forums, look for tips and tricks relating to what you are trying to do, go back, adjust materials based on what you read, do whatever to scene, render render render...

One more tip, in case you were not aware, do not use daz or iray lights when using reality/lux. Reality has its own mesh lights, use those. Reality folder somewhere in your library in content manager tab I lbelieve, not sure where as I use custom install.  Tip for using those, to aim them accurately extend the handle (under morphs in teh parameters tab in Daz).

Here's a guide for beginners written by a fellow user: http://preta3d.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=643

That same forum has lots of tips and tricks for usign reality, fixing problems etc. There are video tutorials for reality, some on the [reta3d website, others on youtube, the ones by Paolo are by the reality creator himself.

If you have specific questions I can try to answer them but I highly recommend registering over at the reality forums if you have not done so already and asking your questions there as other reality users are far more likely to see it and give you useful info.

    No sweat, good luck!

  • Have asked Daz but 3 days waiting, maybe a light could be shed??

Daz content bought but lagging in Poser 11 (windows) Poser tech support has tried to help but still nothing... said compatible with Poser but just noticed something called a Poser Core installer?? Apparently some Daz content can be for older versions of Poser? very confused?

Thanks in advance if any help can be provided before I start hunting down my refund.

    Cheers SB
