Beginner question: how to save a pose plus location

Quite a few premade poses move a character to a specific location within a premade set. I know how to save a pose, but after futzing around to get a character placed just so on a prop or a piece of furniture in a set I've modified (or cobbled up myself) I'd like to be able to apply the pose to any character and have him or her assume the same pose in the same location.

I'm sure there's a way, since PAs like ironman13 and Zeddicus do it all the time. I'd appreciate knowing how it's done.

For placement poses, move using the figure node (e.g. Genesis 8 Female). For all other posing use the hip (tokeep feet on the ground plane, or to adjust position relative to another figure or prop for a group pose) while keeping the figure at the origin. That way you can use the options dialogue when saving a pose preset to save only the figure node for a placement pose, or everything but the figure when saving a regular pose - it keeps the two functions separate and makes for much greater flexibility.

I see I'll have to experiment and get familiar with the concept. Thanks, Richard!

Damn! nicely put. Been getting it right (random luck?) for years, but now I know why. Ah - the sweet taste of determinism. Thank you, Richard.
