add material pose

AnymatterAnymatter Posts: 95

hi members,

i'm finding way or button that adds a material preset to object surface without overriding its existing nodes and settings(except for identical nodes and settings). i dont wish to manually set it in surface tab or shader mixer either

In Poser, the button is called 'add to material' in material library. .

how to do that in daz studio?

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I think File>Save as>Materials preset (or Shader preset for an MT5 equivalent) and then adjust which properties are included - if you click the lined button part way down on the right of the options dialogue theer are commands for selecting or deselecting proeprties by various criteria.

ok, i've saved a custom shader preset but clicking  and applying to object surface will override all of its(object) existing materials/nodes too, whats left is the custom shader itself. what i want is that the custom shader blends with the object shader with simple click in daz library without having to manually adjust in surface or shader mixer tab etc ....

If on Windows hold down CTRL button then double click on the shader preset

This will bring up a pop up where you can choose to use your custom shader on all or just the selected surfaces plus you can choose to keep or replace the current images

ok i've tried too... the shader preset replaced the existing shader on that selected object surface instead, not blended....

Ah, you want to blend shaders not settings? DS doesn't directly support that via presets (as far as I know) - you could copy-and-paste bricks if both shaders were using Shader Mixer, but that would be a manual process.
