Quick Question about animations

I bought Animate2 when it was on sale and haven't touched it. I'm thinking it's a good weekend project. Before I buy any aniblocks, I was just wondering, can you alter facial expressions? I'm not going to be doing anything large scale. I was thinking it might be fun to do one where the character is running in terror. So I was wondering, can I put an expression on their face or are you stuck with how the aniblock is set up?

Walking and running aniblocks typically leave hands and face untouched. So while the major body parts are animated, you can hand-key-frame hands to carry somehing, or animate changing expressions.
