Make stuff in Blender and use in DAZ and using stuff I might buy in the shop for DAZ in Blender?

I don't know if I asked this question before but I am back to trying DAZ again. I think some of the models and environments here in the DAZ shop are really great and I want to create stuff like that.

I know how to model, at least a little bit, in Blender and I understand a little about how to UV unwrap and apply textures. How would I use Blender to model stuff for DAZ? Any tutorials? And what about using models and environments I might buy for DAZ in Blender?

I think both could be useful in creating great art and animation. Thank You.

Welcome back! I make stuff in Blender to use in Daz Studio all the time...mostly environments. If you know how to model and UV and set materials, getting your items into Daz Studio is pretty straightforward. I select my item in Blender and export it as an. obj (File --> Export --> Wavefront (obj.). Then in Daz Studio, do File --> Import, then navigate to your obj. Here is a screenshot of my Blender export settings, and the Daz Studio Import settings. These should work as long as you are using generic units (which is the default) or metric units in Blender.

Then in the Surfaces pane of Daz Studio, you can start adding texture maps!

As far as getting Daz Studio items into Blender, I did see this:

I haven't tried it, but it looks pretty cool. I tend to do my rendering in Daz Studio because I really like Iray.

The next version of Blender will have a "Principled BSDF" shader with texture map slots resembling what we're used to in DAZ Studio's Surfaces tab. It should make converting DAZ characters' appearance much easier.
