Problem with Transfer Utility.

So I found this awesome Shirt for Futapen Sera 3 that really nails the cartoony blocky shape.

First I exported it out as an OBJ with Poser scale preset.

The I imported it back: http://imgur.com/a/Ohudh

I scaled it up: http://imgur.com/a/9uGOd

and applied smoothing modifier: http://imgur.com/a/CXLKy

Looks great so I want to do transfer utility: http://imgur.com/a/IADwN

and I get this: http://imgur.com/a/IADwN

What do?

The Transfer utility ignores tansforms, once you hae the correct scaling and position export as OBJ and reimport (using the saem preset) to bake the transforms, then run Transfer Utility. Also, if this is not the base shape of the source figure note that Current for Source Shape is not working correctly in Transfer Utility in the release build - it's fixed in the beta.

    Yeah I figured it out.

Transfer utility works perfectly fine with base Genesis shape so I managed to transfer utility that shirt only after I adjusted the shape to it.

Thankfully the shirt had a flat breast morph so I didnt had to fiddle in external sculpting software.

It seems I have this problem again. This time with Mika 7 as a base.

The model looks like this: https://imgur.com/a/iE5RS

I do the transfer utility: https://imgur.com/a/8zWZg

and I get this as a result: https://imgur.com/a/H0cww

inb4: I installed the beta version as an update through DIM.

    EDIT:

Turns out its just not worth the trouble to fit clothes through morphed characters as even when they're loaded they're just genesis with dialed morph.

  • You didn't set the Source Shape, so DS worked on the assumption that the mesh was made relative to the base shape. Also, I think Mika uses scaling which you need to remove even if you are modeling around a morph. However, as you say working around a morphed shape is rarely the most effective approach.
