Earrings. How do they work then?

Hi all,

If I make a pair of earrings and then parent them to the head, they don't really follow the head very well, so how can I make then stick to the earlobes so that they don't need repositioning after every head move? Is there another way of pinning them to the head but more accurately to the ears?

Thanks in advance,

G

    Have you "parented them in place" after positioning them as you wish?

    Hi,

    I'm using Daz 4.9 and a G2 figure 'Lorraine'.

    I have used 'parent in place' and it works for minor moves of the head but not for position changes like sitting to stand etc.

    Thanks both,

    Are you parenting it to the head?

    Yep, parented to the head. I unparented them, then saved the file, parented them again and re-saved. They seem to be staying in place at the moment but I don't know what happened before.

    Why can't you just use the Transfer Utility?

    Edit -> Object -> Transfer Utility.
    Source: Gen2 Female
    Target: Earring
    Projection Template -> Headwear.
    Ok.

    If you need to edit or remove bones, use Tools -> Joint Editor.

    Morphs don't transfer to parented props. There are two obvious ways to handle this, other than manually repositioning the props for different morphs - make them into a figure, possibly with custom bones for any dangling parts, or use Rigid follow Nodes which will carry parented items with them without deforming.
