I want to be able to save character presets so they include the hair and fibremesh eyebrows as part of the character preset? Is that possible?

No. character preset, can not save any attached assets.
If you use preset , apply only( load base figure(Actor) already in the scene ,then apply preset) , "save as wearable preset" can save current attached clothing ,hair, parented props, grafted items, preset, with loading Actor mat, pose, shapes.
but to load all at once(include Actor),I need to save them as one scene subset. (or save as scene then merge) , but subset, and scene,, can not apply to current Actor, I think)
and clothings which saved as subset, can not auto "fit to", then I often manually fit to items. which loaded as subset,,.
OK I see,, GenesisX8 F have script arleady to load eye lash, with ecnripted. then we can use it to make new character preset.
maybe we can modify it, in the preset script , but how add another itmes?
then I try to make character preset for my G3actors, with hair, or with anatomy. I hope to make script from G8 script, but it is encrypted.
I can not check them at all. what I need to edit. Could you show way?
I do not know why DAZ offer DSE then to avoid user edit. at all.
because It should be simple, just edit by text edtiror. to add another items,and change each "type key or value"
or I can not find correct safety edt way, to set "Type","keys", "value". just try Vague guess only.
I think you can use a diffrent script to do waht you want by editing the asset file in the options - I'm not sure how much freedom you have to do so, or what the requirements are, but it should eb fairly simple to experiment with.
It maybe not matter about those who learn Daz script already, but it cause matter, when I hope to do easy, just modify script which already offered.
(or to be frankly said, I do not know, why I need to modify script, just for adding new item , for new character preset, which DAZ announced as new power of new DS)
or DAZ now thinking, many user can make script as we like? . I believe, daz may better ask User. not for script mania.
how many ds user hope to use or make new scripts from scratch, just for add new item in character preset? I believe, those thinking is far from different from standard ds user hope to. iI thnk your way or daz recommend way is for those guys, who make scripting their hobby or job.
I am afraid,, future Ds imrovement about each ds vrison will require knowledge, DAZ script for most of things, then it usually offered as DSE only, then user need to learn how to make it by them selfs., I feel, DAZ better change their thinking. it is not what user hope daz.
(add many new method or property for scritpt is no problem. but when up-date daz studio, and add new things, usually we hope ,we need not edit script file at all.
I think it is naturall thinking of current ds user. at least most of daz user not hope to make script by my selfs. just hope to use them)
OK, thanks. I saw the script field in the Save As character preset. I guess I will have the hair & eyebrows as configured individually & then add a script to the character present I save to load them. My 1st DAZ script!
without it,, as same as new power pose is still damm for genesis3, this new character preset is still damm about many things. just can be use, adding and change eyelash mat in G8 character preset only.
I know, I can add new column, in character preset >script modify window from modelator just attached you tube ., "key" or path or "type", but without daz offical doucment which show more detail, it is simply take more time, just add something. (Maybe I need to set category path or name, and change type to add each record, correctly. without it change value can not work. but to serch each, I need to check contents but DS UI not forgive to open library with keep character preset window.
then I think, daz is almost joikng for me, about those things. though I believe, daz is serious to add some tweaking, and DAZ think it is fo user. but at same time it usually just confuse user, or they need to ask things in many times to use it what intended.
at least I can not predict exact method, to add just another hair, in character preset, small tool box. But I know DAZ beleive, we can find easy. or richard say, you can easy eidt or make new script. I deny both. No thank you. just offer more usable ,easy way please. or just offer clear usage, if DAZ do not plan to modify it any more.
I do not hope, just improve, add new items in preset,, , ask or request DAZ. and wait DAZ wip time.
Lets tell me please, when you save one full character preset include one all coset (with each mat), with new cool character preset and pre-load script.

I think the only way to do that without scripts is to have only the character & all his hairs, clothing, and accessories loaded in a scene in a zero pose and then 'Save Subscene...' and then when you want to add you instead must 'Merge...' into current scene when you make new scenes.
So if daz new character preset keep current way. it is almost no useful .
because just load wearable preset is more quick. to load all clothing and at same time can change character(mat shape pose), we just need to load Actor untill apply wearable perset.
then if load all from scratch, we choose subset.
character preset merit is, apply mat,shape or pose. more simple. but daz add new script to load attachment. it expand preset, but it take long time to set up (at current, though I just give up to set it up for Genesis3female with full costume, to serch each item path and type.)
I really think, daz need more direct user feed back, without any Refrain when daz plan to add new, more clearly visible. it will be hard experience for DAZ, but I think it can enhance daz studio.
if DAZ have shown their new character preset plan, then ask user as official questionnaire, how you think, DAZ could correct real feed back. how customer feel, when they used. I do not think DAZ studio is free aprication as true meaning., but think it is main aprication to sell DAZ contens and play with DAZ contents mainly.
then I hope to retrun real feedback . even though it make daz programmer be offended (I do not offend personal man, but actuall usability).
current chaarcter preset new enhancement is almost non useful. (just need more enhancement, then it can be more usable. and offer actual meanig. but daz take long time ,it is problem. I ofen feel, daz often stop enhancement about each tool, or action about improtant situation,, they suddenly offer another thing. I do not know those reason.
OK, now at current,,, I feel,, a little bit good,,,

because I could add another anatomy with daz offered "Character Addon Loader.dse" from anatomy.duf path and name, for genesis8, with default eyelash.
but , after I modify Character Addon Loader.dse "scirpt import rule", this modify seems reflesh when I close daz studio.
then these modify (I only add new column, to set duf path and asset name for anatomy) only recorded with "character.duf"?
if so,, I may just edit character duf. (need to serch which record decide which item will be loaded with character preset,,,)
because after I re-open daz studio, then load saved preset, it still load eyelash and my attached anatomy. I can apply it too. (apply for base genesis8, it now auto attach anatomy )
though I do not know why I use this preset, to achive same thing, (to apply , weralable wrok,,, to load, new subset work and they are more easy to make )

I could found the place, which add conditon, for the loaded script.dae in new saved.duf,, (so I do not need to make original pre-load script . and no need to edit rule in character preset UI, but add them, as setting , of PostLoadAddons in character.duf.
it seems more easy for me. to add rule for attachment. (and more clear show , what I edit and how it work)

Thank you too, could you anyway suceed your purpose? (though I grab how it work, but to set each mat or serch item pass and correctly set type is terrible for me,
though just feel happy, when find something work. at same time, I still think, it must need improvement to save more easy way,,
and I care,, load those script (will be encrypted) from character preset. user can not check whati is going on, anymore.

then actually same script (to set up attach assets) work for Genesis3 too. (then it should work about all generation genesis)
I first test with G8, then use same script which daz offered for G8, to save new G3 character preset.
but if you first try to load the same script for G3 to make new preset, you have no way to grab how it work. (because it show empty record)
after try character preset.duf for G8 with keep default setting, you may understand more clear each setting meaning.

I can't try yet. I am only 30% done running a render that lasts days but I am excited to try when the render is finished.
