So, unsure if anyone will be able to or want to help me out with this but, I'm a big fan of the game Final Fantasy XI Online, my friend and I have started to recreate some of the areas on Minecraft just as a casual fun thing to work on now and again. With the game being so old it is nearing its last leg of being a live game and servers will go down soon. We were trying to figure out a way to preserve our favorite zones that we might want to recreate somehow. While searching i stumbled upon a program called Noesis, supposedly you're able to open these zone files of FFXI and export them as an .obj file, which DAZ should be able to open no? But when i tried, it wouldn't open the zone. Anyone know anything about this program and why it may not have opened the zone files?

That is unlikely to be allowed under the game's EULA, regardless of any software issues.

When I have a .obj file that DazStudio does not like, I open it in uvmapper.  Uvmapper will probably complain about some out of range texture coordinates that you can choose to have it fix.  Then save your .obj file making sure to un-check compress texture coordinates.  That usualy fixes any issues that I've encountered with .obj files and Studio.
