Direction on achieving Haunted Mansion Textures

Hi,

I am a relative newbie to Daz; hoping to get some guidance. I was wondering on how I might set up Textures & Surface settings to acheive 'the spirit' look of a character as noted below or located here: https://www.daz3d.com/haunted-mansion-poses. I would appreciate any help.

That ghostly character look is probably achieved by using the pwGhost product with the 3Delight rendering engine.

Note that pwGhost will not work if you use Iray, and there is currently no Iray equivalent.

Since you're a newbie, I should say that pwGhost is really beautiful, so it may be worth switching rendering engines to get that effect. The 3Delight shader comes with DAZ Studio, so switching to it is just a matter of changing your render settings. Because of its age, Haunted Mansion probably comes with 3Delight materials instead of Iray ones, so my guess is you won't have any problems.

I suspect those used pwGhost, which is a 3delight shader and won't work in Iray. The alternative method is to do two renders and layer the figure over the rest of the environment in an image editor.

  • Just purchased pwGhost. Aha, on 3Delight. Thank you so much for prompt response.

  • pwGhost worked perfectly, rendered exactly as needed. Thanks again !
