L.I.E. Not working with V8(?)

Hi all,

I can't seem to get a PNG with a transparent background to appear on V8 with the Layered Image editor (LIE). Anyone experiencing this and find a workaround? The PNG works on the pre-V8 characters, just can't seem to get it to appear on V8 skin....

Thanks!

When does it fail - launching the Layered Image Editor, working in LIE, or applying to the original image? Have you tried rendering, in case it's just a preview issue?

I haven't tried rendering yet because it is definitely failing in the Iray preview pane. I take it that you're not experiencing problems with transparent background PNGs? I can load it directly in the LIE but the Iray preview is not rendering it. I will give rendering a go and see if it is just the Iray preview of the scene that it's disagreeing with... Thanks!

    My findings:

I am able to get a render with a transparent backed PNG to show up on regular Genesis 8 female but not on the V8 Pro Bundle characters Elizabeth and Rebekah. I do notice that there are differences in the surface tab for the torso area like SSS mode and dual lobe specularity weight when compared to Reba/Liz against G8F... V8 shows the transparent backed PNG but it appears faint in the preview and render...

There have been times in the past when PNG alpha channels did not work, I had forgotten that. I would report it as a bug and - for now - create a separate mask image from the alpha to use as a mask layer in LIE.
