Genesis 3, Victoria 7, or Another Custom G3 Character?

I've been a V4/Poser Pro user since I got started in 3D around 5 years ago and am finally making the switch to DS and Genesis 3. Starting out as a complete novice, I learned as I went with my primary goal of creating a very specific custom character using V4 as a base model. My question is now that I'm moving into DS and G3 figures, which base model should I start with if I have very specific physical characteristics in mind? I want to rebuild my original character from scratch as a chance to improve on the original and avoid all the novice mistakes I made.

The character should be 5'7" or 170cm in height, about 120lb or 55 kg weight, with measurements around 37-25-36 in inches or 95-65-90 in cm. What do you all think? Is it worth it to start from just a base G3 female figure or start with V7 or some of the other DAZ or 3rd party characters? I'm inclined to just start with the basic G3 model, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

If you want to learn how to make figures in DAZ Studio grab the latest free one - Genesis 8 Female. Then read docs about DSON file format and look into .DSF files in /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/ - they're rather easy to understand. I would not recomment to start from V8 `cause she will add more dependencies and confusion to figure structure. Then make FBM for your girl in say Hexagon, import it via Morph Loader, adjust bone positions, make custom corrective JCMs etc :)

But if you just want to make a character, then simply look in the store for Genesis 3 girls, find the most fitting one and start from her :)

Your best bet would probably be to jump right in with the new Genesis 8 figure, She is free check your install manager for Genesis 8 starter essentials.

    Genesis 8 Female Expressions

    Genesis 8 Female Head Morphs

    Genesis 8 Female Body Morphs

These will give you a good foundation to start with, and they are on sale right now.

    Hello!
Sorry to asking, but Like Klendathu,

I'm also interested to know how creating a new G8 figure (I waited a new figure to start of, because starting on a old figure would be a non-sense for evolution purpose!).
I have Hexagon. But it's not possible to use Blender instead (if yes, how? A great tutorial to learn of?) ?
I have already purchased (before reading that forum post): Victoria 8, Genesis 8 Female Body Morphs, Genesis 8 Female Head Morphs.
Can you explain what mean: FBM ?
Can you explain what mean: JCM ?
Can you explain where is: Morph Loader
Can you explain where I can find a valid recent documentations on DSON manipulation (and which software using for create DSON files?)
** I already made this at ShareCG (it was a test in Hexagon, but it's a bit a parkour as it's unstable on Windows 10 !): https://www.sharecg.com/v/85978/view/21/DAZ-Studio/ChrisKBS-MoonBlade-prop-weapon
Can you explain how adjusts bones (I want know... you mean in DAZStudio or in Hexagon/Blender?)

For all theses 5 points did you have a solid recent tutorial for EXTREME beginners (or at least for BEGINNERS?)

THANKS A LOT FOR ALL ANSWERS !

    EDIT: fixed mispelling
