How to move a whole scene in the workspace?

edited February 2013 in New Users

Hi,

The question may seem stupid but as I have created 2 scenes; each one is a whole subset which can be loaded by itself.
I want now to merge the 2 subsets into one and only scene; this of course I know how to do; but in doing so my two scenes are superimposed one in the middle of the other. My aim is to put them one Beside the other in a particular and precise position.

I thought that by selecting all the elementsof one scene before merging into it the second scene, I would achieve my purpose. Obviously it does not work as when I move it not all the objects of the second scene move at the same time keeping their relative positions.

My question is how can I move a whole subset without having its elements displaced?

I hope I've made myself clear. Thanks in advance

Select all of the items in a single scene, Create>New Group, then select the group item in the Scene pane and move that.

Thanks Richard; I thought it might be something like that but I feared to make a whole mess by doing so.
