Help with Sapphire Hair Adjustment

Ok, so I'm trying to adjust the position of the Sapphire hair to match my pose (also still a WIP on texturing and all that so...) There seems to be a lack of controls for movement  of the part above the chin. Is there another approach to adjusting the hair without going and seeing how bad I can screw things up in ZBrush or Blender?

If you are working in DAZ Studio, could you use a deformer?

You could try with a dynamic simulation. A quick and basic test with sapphire hair that clearly could be improved

Actually I do not know, which plug in smaker1 mentioned . hope to know.

maybe new  simulation plug in product like "VWD Cloth And Hair", seems become popular here or there?  wink  or simulate in other aprication then return it as morph?

  • Was looking at VWD the other day tho the description says it's for G2, V4, and M4...gonna give the free version a shot and see if it works for V7, M7, and G3.

    Sorry didn't see the post.

Yes: today my favorite dynamic solution is VWD and I tried plenty : Poser, Optitex plug,...! You can simulate whatever you want (clothe, hair, even Poser or DS4 dynamic clothes...)  because VWD works with exported objects from DS4 via the bridge. Imagination is the limit ! Someone talk about using VWD for wind simulation for trees I must try that. BUT as all dynamic solutions it's not a one click solution (complex clothes/hair need some mastering). Reading the manual and looking at the video tutorial is mandatory. There is a dedicated forum at rendo.

Most images in my gallery have some dynamic simulation with VWD.

Description talk about G2, V4,... because it's about scalp vertices selection already existing in VWD but you can create your own (G3,...). The bad hair sample I posted took 10 secs and I used G3

Another word for trial version: VWD is an independant soft: it's the same either you are working with Poser or DS4 or Carrara

VWD demo goes with the Poser bridge (original scope of VWD)  DS4 and Carrara bridges are independant products. If I remember well (must be confirmed): if you want to test VWD either you use Poser or you need to buy the bridge because there is no demo of the DS4 bridge

The limitation of the demo is that you cannot get the result back in Poser (for rendering).

The best is to see the video tutorials first and see if it could interest you

  • Thank you! Was just about to ask aboit this as i saw ith was for v4, g2. Didnt want to buy it if it couldnt be used for g3.
  • So I don't have poser, with the bridge, I can still use VWD without poser?

    Yes !

VWD is an independant application working with obj exported from the host application. After exporting from VWD (not the demo version) to DS4 you will have a new object in you scene (the simulated hair or clothe), the original one is ticked invisible .The Poser bridge comes with VWD (demo or not). For Carrara and DS4 you need the bridge sold by Philemot. So the only trouble is for people who want to try VWD with DS4, they need to buy the DS4 bridge !
