I downloaded  clothes for Genesis  from Wilmapdigitalcreations.

I made subfolders like this:

C:\Users\grasi_000\Pictures\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Freebies\Wilmap

I unzip in a folder on desktop. Copied and pasted this: Data, People and Runtime into the folder Wilmap.

I can not see the clothes i Daz.

I suppose i did something  wrong  but can not find out what went wrong.

If you are going to use the folder C:\Users\grasi_000\Pictures\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\Freebies\Wilmap to store your content, you must tell DAZ Studio to look in that location for content, since that is not the default location. In DAZ Studio open the Content Directory Manager and change or add the content path C:\Users\grasi_000\Pictures\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\ so DS knows where to look.

OK i see. This is how i did:

Opened Content Library -  rightclick in Das Studio Formats and choose Add a base directory.

Searched for the folder in my computer and choosed folder Wilmap.

    Is this OK. ?

I can then see it in Files - Wordrobe ?

Don't do that - assuming you already have the My Library set as a content directory. Having a folder and a folder inside that folder both set as content directories is a recipe for confusion. Instead either integrate the content with the My Library folder or use an entirely separate folder for Wilmap's items and select that folder as a content diectory.

I did it that way to remember where i downloaded the clothes. To give credit.

Would it be a better idea to paste and just drop all feeebies directly  into My Library  ?

As I said, you can create a new folder not in My Library and use that.

Sorry to say but i don' t know what you mean. Where do i create the folder you mention ?

Create a folder in your operating system file browser in a conveonet location, then add that to DS as a content directory and unpack the Wilmap freebies so that the Data, Runtime, and any other folders at the same level (probably People) go into that folder.

    Now i understand.

Now i can see the downloaded clothes in Conten Library. I saw a video in You Tube that says - now it' s only to drag the clothes from   Conten Library to the figure.

Nothing happens when i do that. Any idea what went  wrong for me ?

Another question. Next time i download from another creator should the data. runtime, and people be in the same folders ....i mean data in data folder, runtime in runtime folder and so on. Should alla data files from all creators be in the sam folder........all runtime in teh sam and so on.

You should load the base item first. I.e. The sweater, and then add the texture you want.

Yes all creations should go into the same folders i.e. Data, people, runtime.

they are usually under the creators name in each folder as mine are.

I dIon' t understand how you mean. Where is the base item ? How does it look ?

The base item is white and is in the Genesis  Christmas Sweater tab. The one before the materials.

Thanks for your patience - many questions from me blush

I tried the white dress - Polo Neck Sweater. I get the Polo Neck Sweater look ok.

Then i drag a christmas shirt to the Polo but nothing happens.

Have you loaded the base item? I think you are trying to load the texture only and this will not work without the base.

You should go to your Content Library tab and select People/ Genesis/ clothing/ Pusey Designs/ Genesis Christmas Sweater. This is the base sweater you load first.

the next folder will be materials and this holds all the textures.
