Spot Render with a mind of its own?
I was wondering if anyone else is experiancing this too. Over the last week or so when I do spot renders. I'll cancel it but Daz will essentially freeze and the spot render tool will continue.
Me: Okay, let's check this wine glass to make sure it's placed correctly on the bar top.
Spot Render: Let's Do it!!
(render for a few minutes and it is correct)
Me: Okay, that's good enough. You can stop now.
Spot Render: LEROOOOYYYYY JENKIIIINS!!
and then it won't quit until the spot render reaches 100%. Does anyone know what could be causing this to happen?

Iray or 3Delight? And, not that it should matter, rendering to a new window or to the viewport?
I render in Iray. And I'm just spot rendering to check positioning and collision and that happens in Viewport.
It cacnels isntantly for me if it's actually rendering, if it's in the preparatory stages it has to complete those but it then stops without rendering (I just get a block of transparency over the rectangle I selected).
Yeah that's how it used to be for me too. I was afraid it was something that might only be happening on my computer. I just hoped that with the millions of little controls and functions in Daz, there may have been a magic bullet to stop it from doing this. Oh well. Hopefully it goes away but if not I guess I could try re-installing? That wouldn't hurt anything would it? My content folders are all set to the default locations that Daz selects. I never move anything because I'm afraid I'll lose it.
If it's a setting then reinstalling won't do anything - in general reinstalling an application should leave preferences and so on as they were.
Oh I didn't change any preference or setting to make this happen. It just started happening. I didn't even know there were any Spot Render settings honestly. Let alone an option for "Ignore Cancel Button and do what you want Daz" lol
This problem comes and goes for me. Generally if I restart my entire computer the problem is fixed.
I also (finally) got a 1070 card recently, and because the CPU+GPU doesn't improve rendering times much, I now leave the CPU unticked. This allows the computer itself to be more responsive. This has improved the reaction speed for spot, and NVIDIA viewport, and overall render canceling requests.
Good tip Tobor! Thank you. I have been saving for a new GPU so hopefully that will alleviate it. Glad to know it's not my computer, just one of those little tics in the system. Not a tragic one, just a little frustrating when I'm trying to move on but Spot Render decides to try and impress me lol.
